1. Take Advantage Of Promotions
By frequently checking their website or signing up for their email list, you can keep an eye on the company's promotions. They will typically offer extra points for signing up at different times and award points for spending a certain amount of money within a specified period. They even offer large point bonuses, upwards of 50,000 points, for recommending a friend who successfully applies for and uses his or her Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card.

When purchasing Southwest gift cards or flights, you will earn 2 points for every dollar spent. And, if you upgrade the class of where you'll be sitting, the points will pile in much faster. The more you fly with the airline, the higher your chance for reaching different "tiers" that will enable you to earn even more points quicker.
6. Use It For Car Rentals And Transportation
If you're flying to a new destination, chances are that you may need to rent a car once you arrive. By choosing one of their partner companies to rent with, you can earn around 600 extra points each time you rent. In general, you get to earn 2 points for every dollar that you spend on Southwest's hotel and car rental partners.
7. Book With Partner Hotels
Just as with rental cars, you can earn up to 600 points a night just by staying in a partner hotel. Stay with Hyatt, La Quinta, Best Western and more to start earning more points quickly. And, if you book the hotels through yet another one of their partners, Rocketmiles, you can earn over a 1,000 points extra each time.
