Questions And Answers For Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card

Question: Does Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card offer a welcome bonus?

Answer: Yes it does. You get a one-time bonus of 50,000 miles after you spend $3000 on purchases within 3 months from account opening. That bonus is equal to $500 in travel, so although the amount you have to spend to get it is fairly high, it is well worth charging a good part of your budget spending to this card during that time to earn it.

Question: Are the miles you earn with this card actual frequent flyer miles?

Answer: Yes, cardholders have the option to transfer the miles they earn to participating airlines. Miles can be transferred at a rate of 2 Venture miles to 1.5 airline miles to the following partners: Aeromexico, Air Canada, Air France KLM, Alitalia, Cathay Pacific, Avianca, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Finnair, Hainan Airlines, Qantas and Qatar Airways. Venture miles can also be transferred at a rate of 2 Venture miles to 1 airline mile to Emirates and Singapore Airlines.

Question: How many miles do I earn?

Answer: You earn 2X miles per dollar on every purchase, every day when you use this card to pay for purchases. With this air miles credit card, miles do not expire and there is no limit to how many miles you can earn, so this is a good card to use if you like to hoard rewards towards the full cost of a trip.

Question: Is this a good card to use to get cash at ATMs?

The amounts you draw will be subject to a 25.24% variable APR and this high APR applies right from the transaction date. Question: Does Capital One punish me when I pay late?

Answer: Yes, you pay up to $35 every time you make a late payment.

Question: Why did I see this card advertised with $0 annual fee?

Answer: You may be getting this card confused with Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card, another travel credit card from Capital One. The similarities in the names and looks of these two cards lead to a lot of confusion. But Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card only lets you earn unlimited 1.25X miles per dollar on every purchase, every day. However, it has a $0 annual fee and comes with a 0% intro APR on purchases for 12 months (with a standard 14.24% - 24.24% variable APR after that). If you aren't a big credit card spender and feel you could benefit from a low introductory APR period, then Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card provides an alternative to Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card.

However, Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card has one of the highest earning rates of travel rewards available on a U.S. credit card, and is a much more powerful travel rewards card for bigger spenders. I personally prefer getting this card.
