Keep in mind this bonus offer will not be available to you if you have had any Citi® / AAdvantage® card (other than a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® card) opened or closed in the past 24 months.

Question: Is this a good rewards credit card?

Answer: Yes, Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® lets you earn rewards on all the purchases you make with your card. It lets you earn 2 AAdvantage® miles for every $1 spent on American Airlines purchases; 2 AAdvantage® miles for every $1 spent at restaurants (including cafes, bars, lounges, and fast food restaurants); 2 AAdvantage® miles for every $1 spent at gas stations; and 1 AAdvantage® mile for every $1 spent on other purchases. Basically, the more you use your card to make payments, the more miles you will earn and accumulate. This card's rewards-earning potential make it the perfect card for everyday use, not just for travel with American Airlines.

Eligible American Airlines purchases include items billed by American Airlines as merchant of record booked through American Airlines channels like aa.com, American Airlines reservations, and American Airlines airport and city ticket counters.

Note that certain non-qualifying restaurant and gas purchases are not eligible for earning double miles, such as purchases made at restaurants/cafes inside department stores, caterers, bowling alleys, public and private golf courses, country clubs, convenience stores movie theaters, caterers and meal kit delivery services and gas purchases made at warehouse clubs, discount stores, department stores, convenience stores, and commercial fuel dealers.

Question: Do I get any special benefits from this card?

Answer: Absolutely, this credit card lets you enjoy a myriad of American Airlines flight perks, enhanced security and global acceptance with its EMV chip technology feature, and utter convenience when paying in-app or in-store with Apple Pay®.

The American Airlines flight perks include free first checked bags on domestic American Airlines itineraries for you and up to four companions traveling with you on the same reservation, preferred boarding and a 25% savings on eligible in-flight food and beverage purchases when you use your card on American Airlines flights.

Question: Does this card have an annual fee?

Answer: Yes, you need to pay to use this card. Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® has a $99 annual fee (waived for the first 12 months).

Question: Is this a good card for international spending?

Answer: Yes, Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® has no foreign transaction fees. This is a great feature that helps you save money on extra charges when you make international purchases in currencies other than the US dollar. Most credit cards that come with foreign transaction fees typically charge a 3% fee of the transaction amount in US dollars. Let's look at an example of how much you could save with Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® compared to a card that charged a 3% foreign transaction fee. If you used a card with a 3% foreign transaction fee and spent $5,000 overseas, you would pay $150 in foreign transaction fees alone - so with this card you would save a lot of money on overseas purchases since you would avoid having to pay that fee.

Question: Is this card good for purchases?

Answer: Although Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® has a 17.99% - 25.99%* variable APR, based on your creditworthiness, for purchases and no low introductory APR, as long as you do not carry balances, it is still a rewarding card that lets you earn AAdvantage® miles on all purchases you make, whether it be groceries, airfare, gas or restaurant dining purchases. The more you use your card, the more AAdvantage® miles you will earn and accumulate.

Question: Is this card good for balance transfers?

Answer: Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® is not the best card for balance transfers because it has no intro APR and starts directly with a 17.99% - 25.99%* variable APR, based on your creditworthiness. On top of that, it has a balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater.

Question: Is this card good for taking cash out of the ATM?

Answer: Not really. This card has a 27.24% variable cash advance APR and a cash advance fee of either $10 or 5% of the amount of each cash advance, whichever is greater.

Question: Will my air miles expire?

Answer: Your AAdvantage® miles will not expire so long as your account is open, active and in good standing. Earning and/or redeeming miles on American or with an AAdvantage partner at least once every 18 months can keep your AAdvantage® miles from expiring. Using your Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard® regularly keeps your account active while letting you earn miles at the same time. AAdvantage® miles expire after 18 months from the date of your last account activity.

Question: Is there a penalty if I pay late?

Answer: Yes, a late payment penalty fee of up to $35 will apply if you do not make your payment punctually. What's more, up to 29.99% variable penalty APR may be applied to your account if you make a late payment or make a payment that is returned. It is important to note that once the penalty APR kicks in, it could be applied to your account indefinitely.

Question: Can I get this card even if I have bad credit?

Answer: No, this credit card is available only to people with excellent or good credit. Getting rejected may hurt your credit and that's definitely something you don't want.

Question: Do I get access to my credit score?
