Things We Like About United℠ TravelBank Card

Earn $150 in TravelBank cash. After spending $1,000 on purchases within the first 3 months your account is open, you earn $150 in TravelBank cash! That's a pretty sweet bonus, especially if you consider that your TravelBank cash can accumulate in your United TravelBank account on United.com, and the TravelBank cash you earn is unlimited!

No annual fee. Your annual fee will be $0, so you get to enjoy this card's benefits without paying a yearly charge.

Earn 2% in TravelBank cash. For every $1 you spend on airline tickets purchased from United you earn 2% in TravelBank cash. The TravelBank cash you earn is very easy to use: When used toward the purchase of a United ticket, $1 in TravelBank cash equals $1.

You can rack up your TravelBank cash in your United TravelBank account on United.com and there is virtually no limit to the amount of TravelBank cash you can earn. Keep in mind that you can immediately lose all your TravelBank cash that hasn't been transferred to United if your card account status changes, or your card account is closed for program misuse, fraudulent activities, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or any other reasons described in the terms of the Rewards Program Agreement.

Our Least Favorite Things About United℠ TravelBank Card

No low intro APR period for purchases and balance transfers. There is a 16.99% - 23.99% variable APR on purchases and balance transfers, and this is the rate you get right from the start. But you'll avoid paying this interest if you make all of your payments on time.

Cash advance fee. This is a good card to use while traveling, since it has no foreign transaction fee. But you might want to avoid using United℠ TravelBank Card to get cash at ATMs. This card has a cash advance fee of either $10 or 5% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater. It also has a 25.99% variable APR for cash advances, and Chase starts charging you interest for cash advances from the time you make the transaction. That means you can expect to start paying interest immediately when you use this card to get a cash advance.
