Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card is a travel rewards credit card that lets you earn Marriott Rewards points on all your purchases. Earn 6X points for every $1 spent at participating Marriott® and The Ritz-Carlton® locations, and all Starwood-branded hotels which participate in Starwood Preferred Guest®. Earn 2X points for every $1 spent on all other purchases. It comes with plenty of amazing Marriott-exclusive benefits, including Free Night Award every anniversary, free night award redemption starting at 7,500 points and automatic Silver Elite benefits. This card also lets you save on foreign transaction fees on top of offering travel and protection coverage. It has a very generous welcome offer for new cardmembers, too.

Things We Like About Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card
Earn 75,000 Bonus Points after you spend $3,000 on purchases within your first 3 months of account opening with your Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card. Note that this generous new cardmember offer will not apply if you are a current cardmember of the card or if you are a previous cardmember of this card who has received a new cardmember bonus within the last 24 months.
Earn 6X points for every $1 spent at more than 6,700 participating Marriott® and The Ritz-Carlton® locations, and all Starwood-branded hotels which participate in Starwood Preferred Guest®. This includes Four Points® by Sheraton, Sheraton® hotels, Aloft® Hotels, W® Hotels, Le Meridien® hotels, The Luxury Collection® hotels, Element® hotels, Westin® hotels, St. Regis® hotels, Tribute Portfolio™ and Design Hotels™ properties.
Earn 2X points for every $1 spent on all other purchases. The more you use your card to pay for purchases, the more points you will earn since there is no limit to how many points you can earn.
Points do not expire. As long as your Marriott Rewards account is open and active, your points will remain valid. To make sure your points stay intact and valid, there must be card earning activity or other qualifying earning or redemption activity every 24 months, so you need to keep your card account open and in good standing or at least complete one eligible stay at a participating property.
Free Night Award every anniversary. As a cardmember of Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card, you can look forward to enjoying a Free Night Award each year after your account anniversary, valid for a one-night hotel stay at a property with a redemption level up to 35,000 points. Your Anniversary Free Night Award e-certificate will be automatically deposited into your Marriott Rewards account, not more than 8 weeks from your card account anniversary date.
Free night redemption. You can redeem your points for free nights at hotels. The number of Marriott Rewards points needed for a standard reward free night begins at 7,500 points. For more information on all reward redemption values, you can head to MarriottRewards.com.
Automatic Silver Elite benefits. If you're a cardmember of Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card, you will automatically receive Silver Elite Status every account anniversary year. Silver Elite Status members get to enjoy benefits such as a 20% bonus on base points earned during stays; free in-room Wi-Fi when you book through Marriott; priority late checkout; exclusive elite offers and more.
15 Elite Night credits annually. This perk lets you receive a maximum of 15 Elite Night credits each calendar year. These credits will be credited to one of your Marriott Loyalty Program accounts operated by Marriott International namely, Marriott Rewards®, Starwood Preferred Guest® or The Ritz-Carlton Rewards®. To enjoy this benefit, be sure to keep your credit card account open and in good standing.
Fast track to Gold Elite Status when you spend at least $35,000 on purchases each account year. Gold Elite Status members get to enjoy all Silver Elite-level perks plus a few other perks that make your stay with Marriott even more memorable, such as complimentary room upgrade whenever available; guaranteed 4pm late checkout; guaranteed lounge access/breakfast; complimentary enhanced internet access where available and more. No foreign transaction fees. This is another benefit that you can benefit from if you tend to go on overseas trips quite regularly. Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card lets you save on foreign transaction fees on purchases made outside of the United States. Cards that charge this fee typically charge a 3% foreign transaction fee on transactions made in foreign currencies, so with this card you could avoid $150 in foreign transaction fees if you'd spend $5,000 internationally.
Travel and purchase coverage. You are covered with built-in benefits as your card covers things like baggage delay insurance; lost luggage reimbursement; trip delay reimbursement; purchase protection; and 24/7 complimentary Visa Signature® concierge service. Terms, restrictions and exclusions apply. For example, purchase protection covers your new purchases for a period of 120 days against theft or damage up to $500 per claim, up to $50,000 per account.
Our Least Favorite Things About Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card
$95 annual fee. You need to pay to use this credit card, but if you are someone who travels a lot, the assortment of perks that Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card offers could be well worth the very reasonable $95 annual fee.
No low introductory APR for balance transfers and purchases. Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Credit Card has a 18.24% - 25.24% variable APR for balance transfers and purchases, depending on your creditworthiness. It has a balance transfer fee of either $5 or 5% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater.
Not suitable for getting cash out of the ATM. This is not the card you want to reach for if you need to get cash from the ATM urgently since it has a 27.24% variable cash advance APR. Additionally, a cash advance fee of either $10 or 5% of the amount of each transaction, whichever is greater, will apply for each cash advance transaction you make.
