Doing something good for our country's veterans is something we can all feel good about. SkyWish, the charitable arm of the Delta SkyMiles frequent flyer program, is working to make sure veterans, active service members and their families can fly when they need to. The exciting thing is that you can help if you're a member of the Delta SkyMiles program.

This year's charitable promotion will directly support Fisher House Foundation's Hero Miles program and Luke's Wings. This is the third consecutive year that Delta has matched donations. The airline has agreed to match a donation amount of up to 10 million miles during the month of November.

Have you been looking for a way to give back going into the holiday season? Doing something good for others can be as simple as visiting your SkyMiles member page and sharing your miles with a reputable, highly esteemed American charity.

Why Every Mile Matters This November

The relationship between Delta and the many charities that help veterans isn't new. Delta is one of the chief financial supporters of VA Long Beach Fisher House in Long Beach, California. In addition, the airline contributed significantly during the construction of a second Fisher House facility at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Seattle.

Fisher House Foundation's Hero Miles program and Luke's Wings have been able to use miles donated through SkyWish to provide air travel to wounded, injured or ill service members and veterans.

This collaboration makes it possible for military members to be with their loved ones while undergoing treatment and recovery. The total number of donated miles in 2015 was an astounding 27.5 million.
