For customers who are looking for tremendous value, the Delta SkyMiles frequent flyer program offers a number of benefits, including the option to request for free upgrades at the lowest-level elite status. Additionally, there's the opportunity to waive Delta's Medallion Qualifying Dollar requirements in order to accrue elite status with a co-branded Delta credit card. As if those the perks aren't enticing enough, Delta recently revealed that it would be rolling out some additional benefits for its Diamond Medallion Members.
Among the improvements is the ability for Diamond Medallion Members for 2017 and 2018 to select their benefits whenever they wish. In previous years, members were required to choose benefits all at one time.
Another change revolves around the receipt of three Choice Benefit options rather than two for those members who attain Diamond Medallion Status for 2018.
Diamond Medallion Members who have received free Delta Sky Club access using an eligible credit card can also now choose a Delta Sky Club Guest Pass, which gives them Delta Sky Club access (unlimited) for as many as two guests per visit when those guests are traveling with the cardmember. To top it off, Diamond Medallion Members can also now opt to give their bonus miles to a fellow Delta SkyMiles member.
Maybe, the biggest change that most members will notice is the way SkyClub access is handled for Diamond members. Rather than having each Diamond member receive an individual SkyClub membership automatically, Delta is now offering this as an option among the list of benefits made available, from which elite members can select three benefits. For many members, this will likely prove to be a popular option.
