Airbnb is gaining popularity, and people from all over the world are foregoing traditional hotels in search of a more budget-friendly and authentic, local experience. Last fall, Delta Air Lines made the service even more appealing by inking a partnership with Airbnb, which allowed members of the Delta SkyMiles frequent flyer program to earn one mile for every dollar spent on Airbnb stays. Now, for a limited time, Airbnb users will have the opportunity to earn three SkyMiles for every dollar spent on Airbnb.
To qualify for the SkyMiles bonus, you must book your stay by April 30, 2017, though you don't have to stay at the properties booked by that date. Be sure to book your stays through the promotion website to be eligible for the promotion. All you have to do is complete your stays by April 30, 2018. Though, truthfully, many hosts may be leery of accepting a booking a year in advance.
As an extra bonus, if you're new to Airbnb, you can get $25 off your first stay of at least $75. In addition, new Airbnb members also get 2,000 bonus SkyMiles for their first stay, provided they spend at least $150.
Airbnb hosts can also get in on the action too. SkyMiles members who become new hosts can earn up to 25,000 bonus miles, depending on how much host earnings they bring in.
Earning one SkyMile per dollar per spent doesn't offer a great value, but this limited time bonus of three SkyMiles per dollar spent is pretty lucrative, especially if you are planning to use Airbnb soon.
