Are you looking to purchase some United MileagePlus miles? If you are, now might be a good time for you to do just that: United just rolled out a new bonus with regards to the purchasing of United MileagePlus miles. The "mystery bonus" offer might be worth checking out; your bonus will be revealed once you are logged in from the landing page.
From now up till April 20, you can enjoy up to an 80 percent bonus on purchased miles, though some will only get the 50 percent bonus. Here's how it all stacks up and what you should see:
For the 80 percent bonus
Purchase 5,000-14,000 miles with a 30% bonus
Purchase 15,000-29,000 miles with a 60% bonus
Purchase 30,000-80,000 miles with a 80% bonus
For the 50 percent bonus
Purchase 5,000-9,000 miles with a 20% bonus
Purchase 10,000-19,000 miles with a 35% bonus
Purchase 20,000-100,000 miles with a 50% bonus
How To Get Started?
You need to visit United's Buy Miles Page, click on Buy Personal Miles and provide your United MileagePlus account number and your last name. From there, you can select the amount of miles you wish to purchase and proceed to finalize your purchase.
There are some restrictions in order to qualify as well. Here's a quick rundown you'd want to bear in mind when buying miles:
- You need to buy at least 2,000 miles, in increments of 1,000 miles
- You can only buy 150,000 miles per calendar year, per account, although bonus miles do count towards the limit
- Your miles can take up to 48 hours to show up in your account
- Gifted or purchased miles don't count towards MileagePlus Premier status
United has a standard buy miles rate that is so high that it takes a huge bonus to make it worth looking into. If you receive the 80 percent bonus offer, you may want to make an investment in buying some miles, especially if you plan to use them for premium cabin travel. If you only qualify for the 50 percent bonus, it's probably best to sit this one out.
