More and more credit card issuers are jumping on the bandwagon of mobile apps. This comes as no surprise since a growing number of consumers conveniently use mobile devices on a daily basis while on the go. I'll show you some of the issuers that provide mobile apps for their credit card users and show you some of our best rated rewards credit cards that can be managed by mobile apps.

According to a recent survey by Capital One Rewards Barometer, 15% of consumers said that tracking rewards with a mobile device would improve their experience. You can also use Discover Mobile, to manage rewards, view account activity and make payments.

Citi (C) also has a great mobile app that lets Citi credit card users track their rewards from their phones. Chase (JPM) also has a mobile app for mobile banking that lets you pay your bills, send and receive money, view credit card balances and transaction history plus a lot more. American Express (AXP) has a great app that lets you pay your bills, monitor your activity, search transactions, browse rewards and offers, and even use your Membership Rewards points for charges!

According to Capital One's Vice President, Amy Lenander, more and more people want easy-to-use rewards with meaningful value. Capital One Rewards Barometer survey revealed that 41% of consumers believed that the biggest thing that could improve rewards redemption is the elimination of expiry dates on rewards earned. According to this same survey, cash back credit cards are still the most popular rewards credit cards among consumers.

To make the most of your rewards credit cards, make sure to read the fine print carefully to check if rewards expire or if there are spending minimums. Using different rewards cards on different spending categories can also help you make the most of your purchases. Some credit cards offer large amounts of cash back in categories that rotate every 3 months.
